MoE Fines School of Prime Systems LD$ 288,000

The Ministry of Education has fined the School of Prime Systems 288,000 Liberian Dollars for graduating its 12th Graders in violation of the Ministry’s regulation not to hold graduation before July 5, this year.

Addressing a news conference in Monrovia on Thursday, June 7, 2018, MoE warned school administrators not to graduate their students in the absence of WASSCE’s result; threatening to grossly penalize violators.

Education Minister Ansu Sonii said the ministry is taking WASSCE very serious to the extent that schools are not permitted to graduate students who failed the test.

He said beginning the next academic year, there will be no re-sitting of the exam, so students who failed WASSCE will have to wear uniforms and repeat the 12th Grade Class the following school year.

As promised, the Ministry of Education has suspended the operational permit of the School of Prime Systems with immediate  effect, pending the payment of the LD$ 288,000 fine.
