The umbrella of Liberian Doctors, Liberia Medical and Dental Association has suspended its nationwide strike action.
Liberia Medical and Dental Association recently issued a 72 hour ultimatum to Government to reinstate 46 doctors, whose names were removed from the Ministry of Health payroll.
The Group said the decision to cut off the nationwide strike action was reached on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the close of a meeting with several stakeholders.
The aggrieved doctors are also demanding an increment in salary and other incentives.
Jonathan Hart, Secretary General of the Liberia Medical and Dental Association said the two days protest was also against the removal of 104 health workers names from government payroll.
Tuesday’s meeting brought together LMDA officials, Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah, House Committee Chair on Health, Representatives Saah Joseph and other stakeholders.
However, Dr. Hart warned that failure on the part of Government of to adhere to the counts stated; LMDA will revert to its protest action.
