Tisdell off to great start…wins Mozambican Cup

All seems to be going in the right direction for LISCR’s loaned forward Terrence Tisdell in Mozambique after he won his first trophy with Costa del Sol over the weekend.

One month after joining the Mozambican club on loan, Tisdell became the driving force behind the team’s 2-0 win over the weekend against league champions Sporting Union.

Tisdell’s performance was exceptional as described on the team’s website. “Liberian Terrence was a real devil on the loose; he created enormous headaches in the defense of the national champions. The defense trembled like green sticks whenever Costa del Sol approached their area. The right-back of the Tete province team, Butana, must have had nightmares during the night because Terrence did so much evil against him during the ninety minutes of the Super Cup match, and at times it seemed that the Liberian was riding a Ferrari and the Mozambican aboard IFA full of coconuts, because whenever the canary striker accelerated the side was in the ‘holes’.”

The former FCFassell winger fired home a goal and provided an assist that was enough for the Maputo based club to clinch their seventh Mozambican Super Cup.

The Mozambican Super Cup final is an annual match contested between the champions of the previous season and the holders of the ‘Taça Moçambique’ (Cup of Mozambique) – the second most important football competition that is organized by the Mozambican Football Federation before the start of the new season.

Costa do Sol last season won the ‘Taça Moçambique’ after also defeating Sporting Union 1-0 in the final. They are the record holders of the title with 12 seated on their shelves.

Tisdell, formerly of FC Fassel, was part of the squad that missed out on the LFA 2016/2017 championship following the deduction of points for fielding ineligible players.

He was later signed on by LISCR on October 31, 2017 on a three-year deal, before LISCR and Costa do Sol agreed on a two-year loan deal for the forward. Both teams reached the agreement on December 23.

Despite leaving LISCR at a crucial period with their CAF Champions League preliminary round match against Al-Hilal, the club in a statement welcomed the forward’s performance and wished him all the best.

Tisdell is one of three players who left LISCR to seek greener pasture abroad; the other two are Christopher Jackson and Trokon Myers.

Jackson is in Belarus on a tryout with top-flight club FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk while Myers moved to Union Duala of Cameroon.
