The Liberian Government and World Bank have signed a grant of 24.7 million United States dollars for the implementation of key development projects across Liberia.
The Bank’s Regional Director, Henry Karali, said the Liberian Government will not pay back the money.
Mr. Karali reiterated the World Bank’s commitment to help the Liberian Government achieve its priority goals.
Mr. Karali said the bank will continue to live up to its goals by reducing poverty, job creation and ensuring prosperity for all nations and peoples.
Liberia’s Finance and Development Planning Minister, Samuel Tweh, signed for the Liberian Government.
Minister Tweh said the World Bank is a trusted partner to Liberia.
He said the 24.7 million Dollar grant will be used for the intended purpose.
Minister Tweh said the grant reaffirms the Bank’s commitment to Liberia’s development.
