Local health officials are reporting the death of three persons of an unexplained health problem in Lofa County.
The National Public Health Institute or NPHIL in a press statement on Wednesday quoted the Lofa County health team as saying the victims are from the same family in Kelima-bendu Town in the Foya District.
NPHIL said symptoms of the strange disease include headache, general body weakness and is common among young children.
NPHIL in its press statement said the first case was a 45-year old male, who fell sick of the same disease on December 23, 2017 and died on January 1, 2018.
Two of his children, the press statement also said, died of the same symptoms on January 19, 2018.
The NPHIL press statement says the Ministry of Health, WHO and Center for Disease Control of the United States have been notified of the development are still studying causes of the disease.
