Outgoing Montserrado County District ‘17’ lawmaker, William Dakel, has said he is outraged by a statement attributed to the District’s representative-elect, Hassan Kiazolu, alleging that he failed the people.
Mr. Dakel said Mr. Kiazolu’s disparaging comments about him are a plot to assassinate what he says is his hard earned reputation.
Both men have been in a war of words since the results of the October 10 legislative election were announced.
The results showed Mr. Kiazolu won the District seat in the Legislature, succeeding Dakel, who is claiming fraud.
Outgoing Rep. Dakel assured his supporters of pursuing the electoral fraud case to its logical conclusion, even though local election officials in District 17 have trashed the case on ground that it lacks basis.
Representative Dakel, a member of the Coalition for Democratic Change, CDC, said Kiazoluhas in recent time engaged the media with the aim to put him against people of the District.
Meanwhile, Dakel has warned Kiazolu, his successor to the legislature to stay away from him.
