6-year old drowned Near Liberia-Guinea Border

Sources in Bong County say a 6-year old child has drowned in a river separating the Central Liberian County of Bong from neighboring Guinea.

Sources said the six years old child named Lorpu Weimei drowned on Monday evening, when her hand slipped off a lady (unnamed) who tried to help her cross the river on a wooding bridge.

FARBRIC News Bong County correspondent, Joseph Titus is quoted as saying the latest incident is the third in recent times, with children being the victims.

Correspondent Titus said police officials are still investigating circumstances leading the child’s death including other children who he said have died in similar manner.

In another development, a police officer has reportedly killed a man, 26, in Greenville, Sinoe County.

The reports say suspect Murphy Kollie, a resource officer, committed the alleged act during a fistfight with the victim identified as mark Doe.

Correspondent Ezekiel Geeply in Greenville City said the incident occurred on last Friday morning near a local football field.
