Montserrado County District ‘9’ Representative in the Legislature, Munah Pelham Youngblood, has bestowed honors on the District’s anti-Ebola taskforce and several institutions for their immense contributions to the fight against the deadly virus.
Over eleven thousand people, including health workers died of in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea of the Ebola virus that broke out first in Guinea in 2014.
The Disease ravaged Liberia and the Mano River Region killing over 11 thousand people in 2014.
Madam Youngblood recalled that amidst the fear that associated with the outbreak, the Montserrado District ‘9’ anti- Ebola taskforce and institutions remained steadfast in the fight against the virus.
FARBRIC Radio was among media institutions that received honors from the District ‘9’ Lawmaker.
Youngblood said District ‘9’ was the most organized District in Montserrado County during the fight against Ebola.
Meanwhile, some of the honorees have said the honors were belated. They argued that the Liberian Government had only honored health officials, but ignored people, who actually did the field work in the fight against Ebola.
