An official of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change has said the Party opposes the use of the old-aged voter registration process for the 2017 general elections

An official of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change, CDC, has said reports that the National Elections Commission will use the same voter registration process for the conduct of the 2017 general and presidential elections must claim the attention of Liberians.

Nathaniel McGill, chairman of the CDC, said his Party is opposed to the use of old process for the pending elections.

He recalled that registered political parties and the Electoral Commission have an agreement on the introduction of the biometric voter registration process.

McGill told a news conference Monday that if the impediment is funding, the Government should revert money set aside for the renovation of the Executive Mansion building to fund the biometric process to ensure a free and fairs elections in 20117.
